EHD Champions Awards (2015-2024): Winners revealed
In celebration of 10 years of the European Healthcare Design (EHD) Congress, the winners of the EHD Champions Awards (2015-2024) have been revealed during an Awards Dinner and Ceremony at the King’s Fund.
Following a four-month competition between 52 previous winners of the annual EHD Awards in six categories, 18 projects were shortlisted and invited to present live to the judging panels and a wider audience attending the Future Health 2050 International Symposium during the day. Following the live presentations, each judging panel engaged in intense deliberations to decide which projects would be crowned the EHD Champions of Champions (2015-2024) during the evening awards ceremony.
Organised by SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange in collaboration with Architects for Health, the EHD Champions Awards was supported by lead partner Integrated Health Projects (IHP) - a joint venture between Vinci Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine - who have supported the awards since its inception; and award category sponsor, Guldmann.
SALUS director, Marc Sansom, commented:
This afternoon we were treated to presentations from 18 of the most innovative and impactful healthcare projects of the last ten years across six award categories, as they competed to win the EHD Champions Awards. What an incredible achievement for all of these schemes. Thank you for the amazing contribution and hard work of all the project teams for pushing the envelope of innovation in healthcare design and continuing to set and raise standards. There is so much learning and knowledge to share that can inform healthcare projects of the future.
Full shortlist and judging process
The Champions awards evaluation committee features international practitioners from across the design and healthcare professions, who bring specialist multidisciplinary expertise to the specific categories they have been invited to judge. The shortlist and winner of each award are determined by a category chair, supported by two panel judges with proven expertise in their field. This robust evaluation methodology ensures a balanced and transparent decision-making process. During the shortlisting process, the judging panels revisited the original winning submissions from each project, but also evaluated new, updated information and a short video provided by the project teams focusing on how the projects had performed since its completion.
